Tozer Vision and Mission

Tozer Vision

Isaiah 45:8 (New American Standard Bible)

          Drip down, O heavens, from above,
         And let the clouds pour down righteousness;
         Let the earth open up and salvation bear fruit,
         And righteousness spring up with it.
         I, the LORD, have created it.

The vision of A.W. Tozer Theological Seminary is to build integrity in the Church.

Integrity at Tozer means standing in the Truth so that genuine love can flow.  The word integrity is related to an integer, a whole number.  Integrity has to do with being whole, being holy like God.  At Tozer we are convinced that the best way to build integrity in the church is to fill local churches with people who think Christianly.  When people renew their minds in Christ, they can become emotionally and relationally mature.

The blight of the Church today is spiritual starvation. People are famishing on rationalism, socialism, sensationalism, on lifeless bonds and bank notes and unwholesome pleasures. "Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not?... eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness" (Isaiah 55:1,2)  Are you living on the bread of God or starving while in the Father's house there is bread to spare?

Tozer Mission

The mission of A.W. Tozer Theological Seminary is to teach students to think Christianly about everything, especially God. It is not enough for pastors and paid church staff members to be the only ones expected to become spiritually and theologically mature. Elders, pastors, evangelists, deacons, prophets, teachers, preachers, small group leaders, parents, counselors, supervisors, mentors, helpers, and prayer warriors all need to be equipped to think Christianly in life so all of us together can act Christianly and articulate the gospel intelligibly as we meet other people's real needs.

“Thinking stirs feeling and triggers action.
That is the way we are made, and we may as well accept it.”

— A.W. Tozer

“Because we are the handiwork of God,
it follows that all our problems and their solutions are theological.”

— A.W. Tozer
